Owen has really been helping me out with the kids in the morning ... I'm so glad he works from home! If he's in town, he'll feed them breakfast, pack lunches and take them to school while I'm feeding the baby (or catching up on sleep). :) Yesterday, he had already left to take the kids to school when I came downstairs with the baby. On my way down, I said good morning to Catherine, who promptly left the kitchen table and headed in the opposite direction as soon as she saw me. Within a minute, Owen walks through the front door (where she's standing), and she says to him, "Daddy, I got this Oreo for you" and hands him a cookie. What a little sneak! Of course he said he didn't need it and that she could have it ... so it worked out well for her.
This morning, I came downstairs to find the light on in the pantry and Catherine in the living room with something in her mouth. She told me it was a "hard Oreo" that Daddy gave her. Sure. Turns out it's a gobstopper. She admitted lying and spit it out in the trash with no problem ... probably because it was too hard for her to chew! My sweet, precious Catherine is turning out to be quite the conniving little 4-year-old.
